History & background

Zahir Mosque was built in 1912 as Kedah's state mosque. Five symmetrical domes and twin minarets in Mughal-Moorish style make it among the north's most beautiful mosques.

Located near Balai Besar palace — centre of Kedah sovereignty. Design inspired by Pahang's Tajul Makmur and classical Mughal mosques.

Zone KDH01 for Kota Setar and Alor Setar. Langkawi uses zone KDH04 — do not mix timetables.
